I no longer see falafel in the same light...
My sis found this. Someone was passing this napkin around during a Eid party once. How corrupt, although it did make me laugh at that moment in time.
In other news: my first week of school is over. As of yet, I have only bought the books for one of my courses. I find the best way to go about getting an education is to try to get as many things as possible for as cheap as possible. Therefore, I have exhausted my research skills trying to find books in every possible library in existence.
The result: many hours of photocopying at an undisclosed location at the university (at which they tend to ignore the illegal photocopying of entire textbooks).
But university isn't so bad. I mean, there are those breaks in between classes when you can go buy a hot and fresh falafel sandwich.

Dear random person who happens to be reading this comment,
If you have nothing to say about my pathetic attempts to weaseling my way out of buying books or the utter and complete strangeness of that picture I have posted, please refrain from commenting all-together.
Comments like "great post" insult my intelligence. Because, when you write that, it simply means: "This post is too lame for me to make any meaningful comments on it, yet I'd like to make my presence known."
Damn, I sound arrogant.
Best wishes,
Asmaa
lol nice handwriting :p
and photocopying at an undisclosed location? ever tried rooftop photocopying? now thats nerdy! :p
Buy all of your books brand new. That smell, thrill and rush of a fresh new textbook is definitely worth it.
Last year for my 1st semester I was so awed with all my textbooks, I'd stack them all up and admire their shinyness. Then I'd give them a hug and say, 'I love you textbooks'.
ahhaha, thats funny.
Assalaamu Alaikum :D
I am able to get a hot and fresh falafel on campus ... *happy sigh*
haha craziness and i've been trying to figure out many ways to get books from other locations other than the bookstore! Man ... you gotta read too much to be an english major, darn books. My room is surrounded by books, they're oozing outta everywhere.
Too bad you're not an engineer. I do about $900/semester in books.
I felt there was a change in you Contemplating life, death, not being alone.
Reading your article in TMV then made sense of everything
You are a good writer
H, it's interesting to know that you actually noticed a change in me. Most people don't. Thank you for your comment.
It was a mediocre article at best, only made good by the fact that I said what I really felt.
I love falafel sandwiches!!! The first time I had one was in Makkah in 2003! It was scrumplicious...! Mmm...
Good luck with this year of studies... I know, you feel you're armed with good study material when you get good books, many of them, and at a low price. Satisfaction.
I like your first comment more than the entry itself. I doubt it's being arrogant, but if that's what you want to call it, then I wish others were just as arrogant as you. :)
I ran into Sumayyah today and she has no idea what your schedule is ... do you want to tell me what it is so that we can perhaps meet up next week? I have all 9am classes, so I'm downtown longer than life. Monday and Wednesdays are longer days, but I have breaks from 12-3. Anyway, let me know.
Sara, yeah haha, Sumayyah is usually clueless.
My schedule kind of sucks. Mondays and Tuesdays aren't too bad though. I finish at 4pm on Monday (and usually walk to Ryerson to get a ride home) and Tuesday I only have 1 class from 3-5pm.
Wednesday, Thursday, and most Fridays I don't finish until 8pm...
Mondays I finish at 6 and Tuesdays at 2.
When are your breaks on Weds, Thursday, Friday?
My breaks...
Wednesday: 2-3pm and 4-6pm
Thursday: 4-6pm
Friday: 2-3pm (Jumuah) then 4-5pm.
Hahha niceeee. That's something like every member of my family would do.
