Coffee Time is my New Homie

After the year 2008 which was bereft of winning anything from Tim Hortons' Roll up the Rim to Win contest, I finally got my break! I was practically crying last year (see this and this) because I wasn't winning anything.

This morning on my way to my placement, I ambled over to Coffee Time (Tim Hortons is too scared to set up shop in this "scary" neighbourhood). I got a medium French Vanilla, and Lo and Behold, I won! It's not a great picture, but it does the job well enough.

In your face, dumb Tim Hortons! My loyalties to you are over!

okay, I'm definitely feeling what you felt a few days ago about giving up and throwing in the towel. It's just so tiring...Arrggg!!

Adnan, who cares about the logo? If I get free stuff from anywhere, it's my new homie, like I said. And yes, a free coffee is all it takes. My loyalties are cheap like that :D

Abdul, I knew you'd come around.

Update: today I redeemed my winning cup. And I asked for a tea instead of coffee. And we all know coffee is more expensive than tea, so I asked for a large tea to replace a medium coffee. And the lady said no, and I was sad.

Assalamualaykum Sister

Glad you won! But I thought I should remind you that buying the "roll up" to win products for the sole purpose of winning is haram because its like gambling. But if your intention is to buy the coffee only and if you win along the way then that is Halal. So we shouldn't be disappointed about the fact that we don't win because that is not our intention. As you know in islaam "Inamal A'maalu biniyaah, wa inamaa likulimirin maa nawaa" (All actions are but by intentions and every one shall have what he/she intended)

Luul, walaikum assalaam. You're absolutely right. To be fair, I bought the coffee without even knowing there was a contest! :) But yeah, I'll keep that in mind, inshaAllah.
