Old Filipino Men

Every morning I run into the crossing guard that patrols the area in front of my building. We're on friendly terms, and if I'm not about to miss my bus, I usually stop to talk to him for a little while. He's an older Filipino man.

Just picture this: I can't believe how cute I am here.

So this morning I walked out of my building, and as I passed him, he said "you look sad." And I said to him "oh no, I'm not sad, just very tired." But it struck me that he actually noticed my face was different than usual. Not only did he point it out, but he also mentioned it to me out of friendly concern.

I mean, I'm not actually sad. I just don't know many other people who would care enough to mention it. That's why I like him, and I think he likes me, too.

There's another older Filipino man that works at U of T as a caretaker (old Filipino men rock) and today he was talking to a friend and I for 1 hour about how he came to Canada. First, he defected from the army because he didn't want to kill innocent people, then he had to fight his case in front of a judge. Then he secretly got married to a woman he loved. Then they came to Canada, and they have 2 adopted children. Then he told us a lot about how to plant bananas.

In short, old people are nice, and they have some interesting stories. Get to know them.

Adnan, did you not read my post properly? There's no hope for you unless you become an older Filipino man. Sorry.

Abdul, it is, eh? The wonders of google!
