A Baby! And Other Miscellaneous Children

I have a new cousin named Yaseen! He was born yesterday in Ohio, like a month too early, but he and his mom are doing well, Alhamdulillah. He was born the day before his dad's birthday - what an amazing birthday present! :) Since I've had some complaints about my blog being too plain (yes, some nerds actually complained), I'm adding some pictures. This week, the students at the summer camp I'm working at built model Islamic cities. Here are some pictures from my class's city: Welcome to Honeybee Islamic city...prepare to be amazed. This is the mosque built by the girls in my class (they named it "Masjid Noor" but we all know they wanted to name it Nugget Mosque). The architects celebrate their work. Another angle of our Islamic city (without those children obstructing the view) This is the energy I must deal with on a daily basis. Frightening, isn't it? Oh, I introduced the kids to my bouncy ball. Now it's yet another thing bouncing off the walls.

The last picture: the two kids in the front look like little horrors.

You need some White-Muslims in that last picture... maybe some Oriental-Muslims too. That last picture, as well as the 3rd picture, are simply way too brown.

Forget what those nerd haters say, your blog's kewl!!!

(Its a pretty good read actually, I like to get my daily dose of Time, Toronto star & Randomly Placed ;)

Congrats to your cousin & your family on the new arrival (put up the baby pictures!)

& could you go into details of what you do at summer camp. I was thinking of such a job but did not know what to expect (or if it takes too much time, its hard work)

btw Grrr Asmaa Grrrr

Grrr Destiny :)

Being a summer camp counselor is basically a full-time job making sure the kids don't kill themselves or other children. That pretty much sums it up. And it's harder than you think :D

But seriously, you have to plan the activities for the kids, which takes a lot of time and effort. But Alhamdulillah, I think my class is having fun. We're making pinatas next week (a decorated container filled with candy and toys suspended from a height, intended to be broken by blindfolded children with sticks). That should hurt some children - we'll do it on the last day >:)

Ok, so pics light up any blog. Nothing wrong with that. :) I liked the your neice's pic... if my memory is right... it was your neice, and not your nephew. :S

And really, those kids remind me of the K.G. kids I 'minded' in my free time at school. Their complexion is sort of Indian... mm, it's stirred up lovely memories of devilish boys who could tear down anything, and angelic girls who'd draw you a cute little picture of your house. :)

I'd like to hear about those kids... and more, about how you deal with them. :P
