Sometimes I wonder how I'll ever be a social worker when I can't even seem to manage my own problems.

is that a prerequisite?

isn't it? How does one, in good conscience, preach that which she does not practice?

Seems like a social worker not being good at managing her own problems could limit the harm to herself if she's professional about her work. Spiritually speaking, the social worker would suffer, but if (s)/he is effective/skilled/good at the job, why not be an instrument of God's mercy in whatever way possible? No good action is wasted. Better to do something rather than nothing, eh?
