Pez and MSA

I'm in an MSA (Muslim Students' Association) meeting right now. Wow, it's really incredible how bored I am. SubhanAllah. Right now I'm getting dirty looks from some of the other execs around me who know that I'm blogging. It's okay, the president is talking and he generally talks a lot without much content. Anyways, in other news, someone gave me a patrick Pez dispenser today. And that gave me some laughter during this dry MSA meeting. Mine is the one on the left... I wonder how much nutritional value Pez has. Oh wait, let me check. Per 9 grams of Pez: calories: 35 g Fat: 0 g Sodium: 30 mg Carbohydrate: 9 g Sugars: 9 g Protein: 0 g Not a significant source of saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, or iron. Oh well.

Assalaamu Alaikum :)

Hmm ... so that's what goes on during the meetings! tsk tsk

I have pez dispensers of The Simpsons :) But Sponge Bob would be so cool ... have you ever tried to imitate his unique laugh? haha

Yeah...so this is what happens in a boring meeting. Asmaa is very lucky to be secratray, she can just look like she's intensely trying to cope with all things that are being said and typing them, but litte do we know, when she's intensely blogging or worse, on her MSN and someone is "nudging" her, and there's this huge "nudge sound".

What a good ladki asmaa is.

Asmaa..you're goign to miss being Secratary next year. ;)

haha...

"Not a significant source of..."

makes me laugh everytime i read that on a can of coke.

starts off making you think, "oh, there's no fat or cholesterol so it must be good"

Ouch! Asmaa, I propose you implement fun time in the constitution and do away with the boredom and dryness of the meetings....to save the sanity of next year's exec. Yay for Patrick!

Hey, how do those Pez things work?

I've never tried em, care for a demonstration

How many little rectangles of Pez candy is 9 grams? I'd guess each of them to be maybe a gram. Is 9 grams the "suggested serving" of Pez?

anon, yeah I was in the meeting at the time of your comment. haha.

Dil, they taste kind of gross though. But the Patrickness of it made it interesting.

Squeeky, you and the Simpsons. Tsk. And I can't imitate Spongebob, but I can imitate Patrick's dumbness pretty easily. Too easily in fact.

Sadaf, that wasn't MSN okay! That was...uhh, something else. But yeah, I'm going to miss being irresponsible. I have to shape up for next year :S

Umar, yeah it's funny how candy is advertised as having no fat...when, candy never had any fat to begin with, but the manufacturers are buying into the whole diet craze and advertising it now. Interesting.

Anon1, I actually think including fun time in the constitution would be cool. It'd probably go something like this: "The MSA executives shall have an alotted period of time to be joyous during the weekly meetings. Failure to laugh will result in a forced resignation pending the approval of the executive board."

Anon2, it's a very complex system. You put the candy in the dispenser, then you pull back Mr. Partick Star and out comes the candy.

Elizabeth, I actually have no idea. I hate the "suggested serving" sizes on the sides of food packages. It's always like "suggested serving, 1 bite." Like, come on, I'm going to take more than one bite.

Oye Hang on!

how can there be 35g of calories IN 9G OF SERVING? not to mention an additional 9g of sugar & 9g of carbs

who gave you the pez?
was it in your sista's other shoe? :P

I never cared much for Pez but always liked the dispensers for some reason.

Umar said...

its more because of laws and regulations than about advertising no fat content.

Asmaa said...

Agnabi, no it wasn't in my sister's other shoe :D An interesting person gave it to me. A very interesting person. Hehe

Nauman, that's because you're weird.

Umar, vhatever.

IF U of T MSA is half as lame as RMSA, a gold sticker for anyone who manages to atleast attend.

Asmaa said...

AP, don't be insulting RMSA. Because it's cool.

I second your motion for allotment of fun time, although you should remove the 'must laugh' clause.

i wish i had a laptop on hand during my MSA meetings.

but then, i was known to skip meetings just to play computer games or go on islamica.

so it would've been a dead give-away.
