Dissertation on the Hidden Nature of Coupons

I looked in the mirror today and got scared. (I'm actually being serious, so you can lay off the "what's so new about that" jokes.) It's probably because I haven't been sleeping that much for the past several days. I've tried tea and even coffee (yes, this coffee-hater tried coffee) to make me feel more awake, but it doesn't work. I end up falling asleep at the most awkward of times and places. Use your imagination. Oh, and listen to this: I went to Coffee Time a couple of weeks ago because I needed tea to wake me up. So, instead of "Roll up the rim to win" they have "flip to win" on their cups - lame, but I won't cry over it. So after I left the shop and finished my tea, I flipped it and Lo and Behold, I got a free donut. Now, this irked me - Coffee Time is significantly out of my way and I don't usually go there. Now I was obligated to go back. So I went back a few days ago for tea again (mainly to use the free donut coupon) and Lo and Behold I got a free muffin. Now, this annoyed me greatly because I would have to go back once again. So I went back for the muffin today and I DIDN'T BUY TEA AGAIN. But the muffin was good. The end.

USA, yeah man, those muffins are huge! Which makes them even better. I was trying to decide which one to get - you know, the bran one or the carrot one, etc. But then I figured I'd get the least healthy one, so I went for the chocolate chip :D

Mr. GQ, not as weird as your spelling.

Tim Horten's chocolate chip muffins have weird sugar chunks on the top.

assalamu aleikum,
ok Asmaa, get back in the LOG frame of mind:

Assalatu khiaran minal nawm (prayer is better than sleep ;) )

on another note: I'm heavily proud of you for quitting music.

Assalaamu Alaikum :)

haha Coffee Time likes you. I never win anything, until this year when I won a donut at Timmy's. I keep forgetting about it ... it's placed nicely on my desk. I think I'm just too proud of it.

And I think in a way we're all suffering from lack of sleep. But do make sure that you get your required amount because it does wonders on your day!

Aaliya, Tim Horton's muffins and cookies are strange and unusual!

Sheikha, walaikum assalaam. I know, I need to be in the LOG frame of mind all of the time. As for the music, it only took me 20 years :S And it's hard. So I need your words of encouragement :)

Squeeky, Coffee Times likes me?! Oh, if only he had a beard, too. Ahem.

Assalamu-aleykum,

Dude, was there any chance that you were at some sort of meeting today? :raisedeyebrow: I wanted to make a reference to Islamica with someone I met today but I didn't want to sound crazy. :P There's a gazzillion Asmaa's out there that's why. Now, if your name was "Pip" I would have definitely taken a chance at sounding like a lunatic.

I probably sound like a nutcake now if you're the wrong person. lol

EZ,
Gabriel

And oh ... sorry, you don't need to answer that. I'm dying from curiousity. I'll just get all wondering when I see the Asmaa (some_random_canadian) I met today, bahaha.

And yeah, I never win anything. Tim Horton's is the suck.

Peace out.

Cmood, walaikum assalaam.

Hah :D yes, I was at the strange and unusual meeting today. It was annoying because Shaila kept saying "Asmaa" and I kept turning around and then I realized she was actually calling Ausma.

That's interesting.

AAaaHHAAA! I KNEW IT! I first became suspicious when you greeted me with 'Assalamu-aleykum' ... people don't usually do that when they first meet me. lol Well, except when they meet me in the prayer room or something at school. But yeah, I thought that was odd. And then, throughout the meeting I kept thinking about the rep point you gave to me which dropped an inkling that you were somewhat connected to the MSA and U of T. Although, when I asked a fellow brother if "some_random_canadian" goes to U of T he told me "No". So yeah, wasn't really sure. I definitely didn't want to ask you about Islamica because: (i) if I was wrong in guessing I would have to explain what it is and why I'm such a dork (ii) you might think I'm crazy. :P Well, now I can finally sleep knowing that I met another Islamican, haha.

But yeah, really nice meeting you dude! :) I don't know you well enough, but you seem like a really nice/cool person. That's like 500 "Asmaa's/Ausma's" and people with similar names like "Asima" (which I still pronounce "Asmaa" because I'm an idiot) that I know now.

Was there any other Islamican's at that meeting by any chance? lol No lie, 'some_random_canadian' was the last person that I ever thought I was gonna meet in person. You like to post hadith's in people's comment box ... that's all I remember. I thought you lived in some rural village in India or something. Well, that's the image I get when I think of your screen name, bahaha! :P

Well, gotta work on my essay, homeboi.

Peace out!

And was it really that strange and unusual? lol

Gabriel, actually I had no idea who you were - I was greeting Shaila with "assalaamu alaikum," not you :P Once you said your name though, I was laughing at the secret that I had. I considered telling you, but decided to let you suffer :D

Haha, well I definitely do not live in a rural village in India. Although I could fool some people into thinking that: mien kya karoo?

Yeah it was strange and unusual - I'm not used to the dynamics of SAC meetings. Plus, there was no focus to the meeting at all.
